Muchenje accommodates only twenty guests in intimate exclusivity. The 10 twin-bedded thatched chalets, all with ensuite facilities, are situated on the escarpment edge all with their own balcony and unique view. This is the only private lodge in this area, and as such is spoiled with sole use of this section of the Chobe National Park . Unique prolific game experiences are to be found without the masses and commercialism that inhibit lodges around Kasane. A major feature of Chobe National Park is its elephant population. The elephants here comprise part of what is thought to be the largest surviving continuous elephant population in Africa . Daily game drives will be available and will be lead by the professional guides of Muchenje which will share the ancient techniques of tracking and bush craft. Fishing trips as well as game viewing by boat can be arranged while at Muchenje. B/L/D

There is a cocktail bar, lounge, reference library, a secluded bird-viewing hide, a sun deck and plunge pool. The 11 East African-style en-suite safari tents are situated on raised teak platforms. Daily activities include game drives, motorboat tours, mokoro (small dug out type boats poled along by a guide. A great way to experience this aquatic environment) rides, game walks and fishing. Day 08-09-10 (September 30, October 1-2) Camp Okavango to Savuti Safari Lodge
Today we depart Camp Okavango by bush plane and fly to the Savuti Safari Lodge in the Chobe National Park of Botswana. Savute Safari Lodge peers out from ancient Camelthorn trees on the banks of the Savute channel, part of the dynamic Savute eco system known for its large concentration of Elephant and large Lion prides. Our e xclusive accommodation provides twelve tastefully furnished twin bedded Safari Suites for a maximum of 24 guests. The unique design of the suites with their spacious interior and large glass sliding doors and private decks sets the Savuti Safari Lodge apart from typical safari accommodation. The lounge, library and cocktail bar are situated in the exquisite thatch and timber main building, where an upstairs viewing deck allows Savuti's enchanting sunsets to mesmerize guests. A large fireplace downstairs is equally inviting on winter nights, while the delicious aroma of dinner and the prospect of candlelit, silver-service dining beckons from the elegant dining room.
The Chobe elephants are migratory, making seasonal movements of up to 200 kilometers from the Chobe and Linyanti rivers, where they concentrate in the dry season, to the pans in the southeast of the park, to which they disperse in the rains. The elephants in this area have the distinction of being the largest of all living elephants, however their ivory is brittle and you will not see many huge tuskers among these rangy giants. The original inhabitants of what is now the park were the San people, otherwise known in Botswana as the Basarwa or Bushmen. They were hunter-gatherers who lived by moving from one area to another in search of water, wild fruits and wild animals. Game viewing is from open 4X4 vehicles and will include visits to the Savute Marsh and the ancient San (Bushmen people) rock paintings at Gubatsa Hills. (3 nights) B/L/D
Day 11 - 12 (October 03-04) Savute Safari Lodge to Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls is one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles and has been declared a World Heritage Site. During the wet season the falls are the largest curtain of falling water on earth. The billowing spray of this spectacular falls can be seen over 40 miles away and is called Mosi-oa-Tunya by the locals for “the smoke that thunders”. The Victoria Falls region is a phenomenal safari destination due to the numerous game parks in the area and is known as the Adventure Capital of Africa. Here you may go white water rafting, sunset cruising above the falls, hike along the falls, do a bungee jump over the Batoka Gorge, take the flight of the angels over the falls, go elephant back riding, visit a casino, do some serious shopping or just hang out and enjoy the views and activity.
Our accommodation will be the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge which is situated on a plateau that forms a natural boundary to the 80 000-hectare (197 680 acre) Zambezi National Park . The westward facing lodge enjoys uninterrupted views and spectacular sunsets. Victoria Falls Safari Lodge offers discerning guests the opportunity to experience an ideal combination of regular game sightings in a bush environment and the grandeur of the mighty Victoria Falls , a five-minute drive away.
